Before you continue, I should tell you that this is NOT the coolest website on the Internet. This website simply contains a few pages, to showcase you some of the work I did as a Web Designer / Developer.
Currently, I am a User Interface Engineer at Tagged.com, a social-networking web site with millions of members.
I specialize in front-end (XHTML, CSS, Javascript/DOM scripting and AJAX), although I have quite some experience in back end languages (PHP , Smarty, MySQL) as well.
Also, I believe strongly in the use of Web Standards.
Originally, I am from the Netherlands, having immigrated to the US in 2005. I have to warn you: if you should hire me, there will be a significant increase in Holland promotion. This odd habit is unavoidable: once Dutch people cross the borders of their country, they can't help it but talk about how great their small country is. Or as we like to say: If It Ain't Dutch, It Ain't Much...
But we're drifting off. I am a permanent US resident, meaning I have a US working permit. I would love to show you the professional, hard-working mentality we Dutch people have. See, there I go again, promoting... I apologize.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Business IT at the Higher School of Economics in Amsterdam, in 2002.
Since then I've travelled, I've worked for a startup Web Hosting company for 2+ years and since my move to the US I did a year of contracting work as a Web Developer.
Since August of 2006 I've been full-time employed by Tagged Inc.
